BCfm is a multi-award-winning community radio station based in Bristol, UK.
They promote community cohesion and well-being by providing an engaging and challenging audio experience. They use a mix of talk and music shows to inform, educate and entertain, with over 60 different programs aired a week.
Joseph is a Congolese journalist trainer with a strong media and community development background.
He is passioned by promoting education in rural areas from DRC. That’s why, he has got a scholarship in One World Advanced Practitioner Fellowship provided by One World network of Schools
For decades, Eastern DRC has been shaken by armed conflicts.
These conflicts fuel ethnic tensions, land disputes, and the illegal exploitation of natural resources. Within this fragile environment, women and girls have been the most affected, especially through sexual violence, which is frequently used as a weapon of war
Through this initiative, we aim to break the silence around sexual violence, give girls a voice so they can express themselves through the power of storytelling in the media.
Because these girls are not only victims: they can become true agents of social change when they have the right tools and support.
